So the news of the week is that John got laid off on Friday. This is interesting for a few reasons, mainly that we are having a baby in exactly (yes, tis the 18th) four months and we are supposed to close on an awesome house next Tuesday.
The good news is that his bosses hate to have to let him go and they have made contacts for him with another company. I know they value John's work-related talents and abilities, but I'm sure they value his integrity and kind spirit even more. John has been working hard the past few days pulling together resumes, cover letters, etc. He has been encouraged by finding some job openings that sound even more interesting to him than he expected and he's pretty pumped about applying for those.
We are praying that we will have wisdom regarding the house situation! John keeps calling up James 1:5 - "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." We are confident that God will give us wisdom since we are asking for it. It's nice to lean on a promise like that and truly not worry.
I cannot tell a lie, we would really like to buy this house. It really has everything we are looking for and was a fantastic deal (and everyone knows I love a good bargain), but we know that if it doesn't work out, it's only because God has something better planned for us. I would LIKE to have a house when the baby comes, but its certainly not going to hinder life if we stay in our apartment. I don't think she'll notice the difference ;)
We have already seen God guiding us in so many ways, that it seems almost impossible to be scared because, after all, If God is for us (and, rest assured, we know He is), who can be against us? (Rom. 8:31)
A final verse. You've all heard it, but it's nice to re-think about it every once and a while:
Romans 8:28 - "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

Aww we're praying for you! And I just saw on facebook that God allowed you to purchase the house. Praise Him for His provision! That's awesome! We're looking forward to having you close by!
