Beach break in April? Yes, please.
We are blessed that my parents own a rental home in SC that we are welcome to visit (for freeeee!) whenever it is not being rented. John suggested we get away from house craziness, etc. and spend a weekend down there in April.
We went down to the ocean (and nearly got blown away by the powerful gusts, but it was still fun), we visited the playground, we splashed in the indoor pool, and we went out to a huge-normous b’fast buffet. The baby particularly appreciated those last two things.
This picture was taken just before we discovered (1) that Rebekah’s bathing suit is already too small, and (2) that she was terrified of the pool. Yes, my child who literally tries to hang from the chandelier on a daily basis is afraid of the pool. We finally got her in and not screaming by day 3, but good heavens, we were surprised.
My big girl (whose suit does fit – YAY) just before our first pool visit. She did a great job being independent in her water wings and I *think* she’ll be ready to learn to swim this summer.
We also chillaxed around the house a fair bit and I may or may not have taken a nap every day. This was the first time Rebekah has shown ANY sort of interest in the TV. She watched at least 10 whole minutes of Curious George. It was a big day.
