Frugal Friday

Out with the (extremely) old...

...and in with the new(er).

Today's frugal friday tip is: have nice friends :) Hehe.

Ok, so our very generous friends Meg and Jason got a sweet new TV. They thought about taking their old (2003) one to be recycled, but then decided to see if their friends with an older (1982) one would like to have it instead. Yes, please! They even threw in a TV stand and nifty tray thingy for the top, which was very helpful since we need our antenna.

As you can see in the picture, we still managed to make it somewhat ghetto with our antenna, digital converter box, and, YES, VCR underneath. We have a DVD player too, its just that Hannah enjoys watching lots of my videos from when I was a kid and we seem to use the VCR as much or more than the DVD player.

But, anyhoo, this TV is loads nicer than our other one. The screen is larger and crisper (hello, flat screen) and we can even read the Jeopardy! questions now (priorities). I am looking forward to watching football and basketball games and actually being able to tell which player has the ball :) Hannah has enjoyed enthusiastically showing our "NEW TV...it's NEW" to anyone who enters our home.
