Like good old married people, we bought something practical for both of us for our 4th anniversary - a ceiling fan for our bedroom! We had one, but the motor got messed up about a year ago and we've just not turned it on. Well, large pregnant lady was getting pretty warm at night and John is pretty much always hot (yes, double meaning, hehe), so we decided we'd get this for each other for our anniversary. We took a little field trip to Lowe's on Thursday night (our actual anniversary date - very romantic) and picked one out. When John took the old one down, we figured out the deal with the motor - it was just very worn out. Apparently it had been installed the year we were born :)

We found a lovely dark stain on the ceiling under the old fan, so we got this nifty ceiling medallion to cover it. Yay for easy fixes :)

Ahhhh, I slept so well that night and last night. I didn't realize just how uncomfortable I had been until it got so much better! We keep the A/C on, of course, but in this semi-old, very leaky, 2-story house, there's just only so much you can do to keep the upstairs bedroom cool.
