I'll begin by being honest. Totally stole this recipe off of someone else's blog a long time ago...and, therefore, I am unsure of where to give credit - my apologies! I was drawn to it because of the small ingredient list :-D
Someone Else's Zesty BBQ Chicken in the Crockpot
Ingredients:
6 Frozen (or thawed) boneless skinless chicken breasts
12 oz. BBQ sauce (my personal fave is Sweet Baby Ray's)
1/2 cup Italian dressing
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons worchestershire sauce
* Place chicken in crock pot.
* Mix remaining ingredients and pour evenly over chicken.
* Cover and cook for 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.
* Shred with a fork.
Suggestions/Alternatives:
- Serve on Kaiser rolls - delish!
- Very yummy left over.
- You can also use split chicken breasts (cheaper) and then shred around the bones, but it definitely takes more effort.
- My favorite meal to create here is the BBQ chicken on Kaiser rolls, homemade Mac N Cheese, and a fruit salad of whatever is in season. If you are a good person, you could make a legitimate veggie side, perhaps a squash casserole or steamed broccoli would be good?
- Makes a tasty, simple, Southern meal to serve to company!
